Efficacy of oral montelukast sodium combined with seretide aerosol inhalation in the treatment of cough variant asthma in children
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of oral montelukast sodium combined with seretide aerosol inhalation in the treatment of cough variant asthma(CVA) in children. Methods From May 2018 to May 2019
100 children with CVA were randomly divided into experimental group and control group
with 50 cases in each group. The children in the control group were treated with Seretide aerosol inhalation. The children in the experimental group were treated with montelukast sodium orally on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy
the time of cough remission and disappearance
the recurrence rate
adverse reactions
and the forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV
1
)
forced vital capacity(FVC) and FEV
1
/FVC before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The levels of FEV
1
FVC and FEV
1
/FVC in the two groups were higher than those before treatment
and those in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P
<
0.05). The total effective rate of the experimental group was 96.00%
which was higher than that of the control group(80.00%)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ
2
=6.061
P=0.014). The recurrence rate of children in the experimental group was 4.17%
which was lower than 27.50% in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(χ
2
=9.435
P=0.002). There were no serious adverse reactions in the two groups during the treatment period. Conclusion Oral administration of montelukast sodium combined with seretide aerosol inhalation can effectively improve the pulmonary function and shorten the cough time of children with CVA.
