Effects of self-developed pacifying and consolidating formula combined with tiotropium bromide on pulmonary function and serological indexes in stable COPD patients
Objective To investigate the effects of self-developed pacifying and consolidating formula combined with tiotropium bromide on pulmonary function and serological indexes in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods One hundred and two patients with stable COPD treated in a hospital in Liaoning from March 2017 to March 2019 were divided into a study group and a control group using a random number table
with 51 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with tiotropium bromide
and patients in the study group were treated with self-developed pacifying and consolidating formula in addition. The clinical efficacy and adverse effects of the two groups were compared;the peak expiratory flow(PEF)
the predicted Tiffeneau-Pinelli index(FEV1% predicted)
the forced vital capacity(FVC)
the serum tumor necrosis factor a(TNF-α) and matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9) levels
and the arterial blood carbon dioxide partial pressure(PaCOz) and arterial blood oxygen partial pressure(PaO
2
) were compared before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of treatment for patients in the study group was 96.08%
which was higher than that of the control group(82.35%)
and the difference was statistically significant(P
<
0.05).Before treatment
the differences in PEF
FEV1% predicted and FVC were not statistically significant(P
>
0.05);after treatment
PEFFEV
1
% predicted and FVC were higher in the two groups than before treatment and higher in the study group than in the control group. All differences were statistically significant(P
<
0.05).Before treatment
there was no statistically significant difference in PaCO2 and PaO2 between the two groups(P
>
0.05);after treatment
PaCO2 was lower than before treatment and PaO2 was higher than before treatment in both groups
and the difference was statistically significant(P
<
0.05);after treatment
PaCO2 in the study group was lower than the control group and PaO2 in the study group was higher than the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P
<
0.05).Before treatment
there was no statistically significant differences between the serum TNF-α and MMP-9 levels of the two groups(P
>
0.05);after treatment
the serum TNF-αand MMP-9 levels of the two groups were lower than before treatment
and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P
<
0.05).Conclusion The combination of self-developed pacifying and consolidating formula and tiotropium bromide can improve clinical efficacy
improve lung function
and reduce inflammation level in stable COPD patients with sufficient safety.
