Adjustment of Treatment Regimen for a Child with Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs-Induced Liver Injury Based on Therapeutic Drug Monitoring
Objective: To probe into the role of clinical pharmacists in disease prevention and treatment through the treatment process of a 13-year-old child with drug-induced liver injury (DILI) induced by anti-tuberculous drugs. Methods: The clinical pharmacists participated into the treatment process of a child with DILI induced by anti-tuberculous drugs
put forward suggestions according to the results of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) on anti-tuberculous drugs
and adjusted the treatment regimen of anti-tuberculosis drugs in children. Results: The clinicians partly adopted the suggestions by clinical pharmacists and adjusted the medication regimen
the disease conditions and liver function of the children were significantly improved. Conclusion: TDM is an effective technical means for clinical pharmacists to participate into drug treatment
which can ensure the safety of drugs in disease treatment
