Emergency pre-examination and triage mode for patients transferred from primary hospitals during the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019: a retrospective analysis
Objective: To investigate the application effect of the pre-examination and triage mode for patients transferred from primary hospitals to the Emergency Department of our hospital during the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19). Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed for 277 patients transferred from primary hospitals to the Emergency Department of our hospital from January 1
2020 to March 1
2020 during the epidemic of COVID-19. Based on the"three-level
three-channel
and three-step"mode of pre-examination and triage
all prevention and control tasks were promoted in terms of infrastructure transformation
personnel training
channel management
and management of primary medical staff and family members of patients. Results: From January 1 to March 1
2020
a total of 277 patients were transferred from primary hospitals to the Emergency Department of our hospital
among whom 41 had pyrexia and 4 had suspected COVID-19. Based on the coping strategy of pre-examination and triage
41 cases were given second-level or higher protection in advance after primary screening
and 4 patients with suspected COVID-19 were admitted to the isolation ward after multiple consultations. At present
the rate of COVID-19 infection is zero among our medical staff
patients
and family members. Conclusion:The pre-examination and triage mode has a good effect in patients transferred from primary hospitals to the Emergency Department of our hospital during the epidemic of CIVID-19 and can effectively protect the safety of medical staff while ensuring the efficient and orderly execution of emergency services.
