Observation on the curative effect of acupuncture at myofascial trigger point combined with vibration therapy in the treatment of athletes’ anterior knee pain
Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture on the trigger point of muscle fascia and vibration therapy for the treatment of knee pain(AKP). Methods Twenty-nine athletes with AKP were recruited from June to September 2020 in Chongqing. The athletes were divided into two groups: the study group(n=15) and the control group(n=14). The control group athletes were treated with acupuncture of myofascial trigger point and false vibration therapy
and the athletes in the study group were treated with acupuncture of myofascial trigger point combined with vibration therapy. The therapeutic effect of the two groups of athletes was evaluated by visual simulation score(VAS)
Lysholm score and extensor muscle strength test before
during and after treatment. Results The difference of VAS scores before
during and after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05). The VAS scores of the two groups were lower than that before and after treatment
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The VAS scores of the athletes in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The difference of the knee function scores of Lysholm before
during and after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05). The knee function score of Lysholm in the two groups was higher than that before and after treatment(P<0.05). The knee function score of Lysholm in the study group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). The difference of muscle strength of the extensor of knee joint before
middle and back treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05). The muscle strength of the extensor muscle in the two groups was higher than that before and during the treatment
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in the treatment of extensor muscle strength(P>0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture of myofascial trigger point combined with vibration therapy can relieve the pain of AKP athletes
improve the knee function and improve the muscle strength of extensor
but the effect of acupuncture on muscle muscle muscle strength is not better than that of single use of acupuncture.
