Objective To investigate the optimization measures and their effects in the management of the drug stockroom in hospitals. Methods A hundred types of drugs under the management of the drug stockroom of a hospital in Luoyang from January 2017 to December 2018 were selected for this study. and the management of the 100 drugs from January 2018 to December 2018 after the optimization of the hospital drug stockroom management was used as an observation group; the occurrence of drug safety problems and scores in drug safety and quality management before and after the optimization were compared. Results The incidence of drug safety problems was13.00% before the optimization of hospital drug stockroom management. After the optimization of hospital drug store management

the incidence of drug safety problems was 2.00%

which was significantly lower than that before the optimization（P<0.05）. The scores in drug safety management and quality management were significantly higher after the optimization of hospital drug stockroom management than before（P<0.05）. Conclusion The optimization of hospital drug stockroom management and the formulation of feasible measures can effectively reduce the occurrence of drug safety problems
