Study on heavy metal content in tea samples from Chongqing
Object To determine the content of heavy metal and extent of heavy metal pollution in tea samples from Chongqing. Methods In 2018
400 batches of tea samples from 31 districts and counties in Chongqing were sampled and examined. The Pb
Cd
Pb and As contents were tested according to the corresponding national standards. The extent of heavy metal pollution was evaluated using single factor pollution index
single factor comprehensive pollution index method and Nemerow comprehensive pollution index with reference to relevant quality standards for tea. Results The content of heavy metals in Chongqing local teas was different among different varieties. The contents of heavy metals Pb
Cd
Hg and As were 0.0300-3.020 0 mg/kg
0.009 0-0.777 0 mg/kg
0.000 0-0.060 0 mg/kg
and 0.000 0-0.880 0 mg/kg
respectively. The overall heavy metal content was at a low level
and most of the tea leaves were not contaminated by Pb
Cd
Hg
or As.Data analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between the content of Pb and Cd and Pb and As in the tea samples from Chongqing. The single factor comprehensive pollution index of each element in tea samples was less than0.7
and the Nemerow comprehensive pollution index was less than 0.7.Conclusion The heavy metal content in Chongqing real estate tea is at a relatively safe level.
