Comparison of two anesthesia methods for painless gastroscopy
Objective To compare the anesthetic effects of propofol+fentanyl versus propofol+remifentanil for painless gastroscopy. Methods A total of 600 patients who underwent painless gastroscopy in a Guiyang hospital from January 2016 to January 2017 were included in this study.Using a random number table
patients were divided into the trial group(propofol+remifentanil)and the control group(propofol+fentanyl)
2 min after anesthesia induction and when the gastroscope was inserted into the esophagus were compared between the two groups.Besides
the operative duration
anesthetic duration after gastroscopy
dose of propofol
incidence of adverse events
quality of analgesia and patient satisfaction were also compared between the two groups. Results The HR
SBP and DBP were comparable between the two groups before anesthesia(P>0.05).At 2 min after anesthesia induction
the HR
SBP and DBP were significantly lower than those before anesthesia in both groups(P<0.05).When the gastroscope was inserted into the esophagus
the HR
SBP and DBP were significantly higher than those before anesthesia and 2 min after anesthesia induction in both groups(P<0.05);but the HR
SBP and DBP were similar between the two groups(P>0.05).The operative duration and anesthetic duration after gastroscopy were significantly shorter in the trial group compared with those in the control group(P<0.05).The dose of propofol and the incidence of adverse events in the trial group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The quality of analgesia and patient satisfaction were comparable between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Remifentanil combined with propofol has a favorable anesthetic effect for painless gastroscopy
which may help to lower the incidence of fatal adverse events
improve the working efficiency of operative physicians
