Objective To explore the current situation of university students′sexual education and to provide basis for the development of sexual education in university.Method 883 university students in one of Yunnan university were chose to complete the self-designed questionnaires which would be analyzed statistically.Results University students′awareness rate of sexual law was high

among which the highest rate（87.3%）was the concept that " stimulate or satisfy sexual needs by obscenity except for sexual intercourse would commit crime of indecent assault and insulting woman".Male students knew more than female students in terms of "the reasons for acne breakout in youth" and " women′s ability to conceive baby after menophania"

both the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.Female students knew more than male students in terms of "actions should be taken when unprotected sex happens"

and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.Han students knew more than minority students in regard to "the place where a sperm fertilizes an egg and creates a single totipotent cell"

and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.Students who had love experience knew more than those who were inexperienced in regard to " women′s peak fertile period".60.0% of university students thought that learning knowledge about pregnancy

contraception and abortion was necessary;90.0% of university students were willing to receive professional sexual education and they hoped that school could set up relevant courses.Conclusion University students should enhance their sexual knowledge

especially female

minority students

students with no love experience and from rural areas.It is essential to pay more attention to these particular groups when conducting sexual education at school.School has to set education content in accordance with students′characteristics in order to promote their physical and mental health development.
