and Cochrane Library by September 2014.Two assessing personnel conducted qualitative evaluation and data extraction from documents included

and examined the data for heterogeneity test

sensibility analysis

and quantitative synthesis with RevMan 5.2software package.Results 25 qualified documents were selected in which only 5eventually entered the final meta analysis with a total number of patients at 1 029.Heterogeneity test was conducted on 4documents with statistical index of death outcome and resulted in I2=0%（P=0.83）

thus the fixed effect model was applied to calculate the result:the combined OR value was 4.20（95% CI was 2.70 to 6.55

and was 4.03（95% CI was 2.33 to 6.99

P<0.01）after excluding documents of inferior quality.Heterogeneity test was conducted on 3documents with statistical index of neural function outcome and resulted in I2=0%（P=0.98）.The combined OR value calculated by fixed effect model was 3.58（95% CI was 2.18 to 5.87

which indicated a reliable outcome.Conclusion Hypoalbuminemia is related to poor recovery of neural function and high mortality rate

whereas this research has its limitations for lacking sufficient numbers of documents and requires verifications through prospective tests and random comparative clinical tests of a larger scale.
