Objective To probe into the value of combined detection of urinary kidney injury molecule-1(Kim-1) and blood superoxide dismutase(SOD)in early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy(DN).Method A detection of urinary Kim-1
urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER)
blood SOD
serum creatinine(Scr)and blood urea nitrogen(BUN)in 30cases of patients with early DN
30cases of patients with non-proliferative diabetes mellitus(DM)and 30normal adults was conducted and the results were comparatively analyzed. Results Level of urinary Kim-1and blood SOD in the group with early DN and that with non-proliferative DM was higher than the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05);there was no statistically significant difference(p>0.05)in the level of blood Scr and BUN among the three groups;urinary Kim-1of patients in the group with early DN had positive correlations with UAER(r=0.974
p<0.05)
and SOD had negative correlations with UAER(r=-0.948
p<0.05).Conclusion Kim-1may be involved in the development of DN by means of oxidative stress
and combined detection of urinary Kim-1and blood SOD has certain clinical values in early diagnosis of renal damage in patients with DN.
