Objective To probe into the cause

type and pathogenesis of traumatic penis erectile dysfunction （ED）in men caused by pelvic fractures.Method Clinical data of 596cases of patients suffering from pelvic fractures in dongguan Judicial expertise center from 2007to 2009were summarized retrospectively

and the cause

type and pathogenesis of penis erectile dysfunction（ED）in 13cases were selectively analyzed.Results Among the 596cases suffering from pelvic fractures

there were 207cases preserved the integrity of their pelvic rings and 389cases damaged the integrity of their pelvic rings.There were 13cases of patients with complicated ED

accounted for 2.18%of the patients suffering from pelvic fractures.There were 9cases with neurogenic ED

accounted for 69.23%;3cases with ED caused by mixed factors

accounted for 23.08%;and 1case with vascular ED

accounted for 7.69%.The injuries were caused by falling from high places

being hit by heavy objects and traffic accidents

accounted for 61.5%

30.8%and 7.7%respectively.Conclusion ED is a severe complication of the pelvic fracture which is mainly caused by neurovascular injury.It is recommended that enterprises shall strengthen publicity and education on safety and protection

and workers shall avoid being injured by falling from high places and being hit by heavy objects;proper treatment shall be given after pelvic fractures so as to reduce the incidence rate of traumatic penis erectile dysfunction.
