Objective To probe into the curative effect of yinchen and chaihu decoction in treating acute icteric hepatitis so as to provide a reference for clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment.Method 60 cases of patients with acute icteric hepatitis A treated in the Hospital of Xichang College from May 2009 to December 2010 were chosen and divided into two equal groups randomly.Patients in the experimental group were treated with oral Yinchen and Chaihu Decoction and those in the control group were given vitamin C

and curative effects in the two groups were observed and analyzed comparatively.Results The effectual rate and total effective rate in the experimental group were 93.33% and 100.00% respectively;those in the control group were 33.33% and 73.33% respectively.The effectual rate and total effective rate in the experimental group were higher than the control group

and the differences were statistically significant（p<0.01）.Conclusion Treating acute icteric hepatitis with chinese medicine yinchen and chaihu decoction has a short course of treatment and better curative effects than western medicine

which is worth promoting.
