Experimental Study on Anesthetic Effect of Ketamine in Combination with Diazepam on Miniature Pigs
Objective To probe into the anesthetic effect of ketamine in combination with diazepam in the experimental research on miniature pigs.Method Ten miniature pigs experimentized with abdominal surgery were anesthetized with combined anesthesia.Deep buttock intramuscular injection with 0.5
0
.8 mg/kg diazepam was given first and then buttock intramuscular injection with 6
8
mg/kg ketamine was given 5
1
0 minutes later.The effectual time
effective time and analgesic effect of the anesthesia were observed;physiologic indexes such as temperature
breath and heart rate during anesthesia were monitored
and untoward effects such as evident dysphoria
vomit
flatulence and salivation during operation were observed. Results Ten miniature pigs were all successfully anesthetized with a percentage of 100%.Narcosis appeared(4.0±1.5) minutes after the intramuscular injection and lasted for(88.5±13.5) minutes. The muscle was well relaxed
and breath and heart rate were kept stable during anesthesia and there was no evident untoward effect. Conclusion Ketamine in combination with diazepam has good anesthetic effect
stationary anesthesia process and stable vital signs. It is a relatively simple and safe method to anesthetize the miniature pig and suitable to be used in time-consuming operations or animal experiments.
