Objective To explore the effect of health education in treating elderly retrograde arthrosis of knee joint while adopting conventional therapy.Method 100 patients with elderly retrograde arthrosis of knee joint were divided into experimental group and control group randomly

and patients in the experimental group were treated with conventional therapy together with health education while patients in the control group were only treated with conventional therapy.Results The marked improvement rate and total effective rate of treating elderly retrograde arthrosis of knee joint in the experimental group were 84.0% and 94.0% respectively while the control group were 32.0% and 66.0%;the marked improvement rate and total effective rate of the experimental group were higher than that of the control group

and the differences were statistically significant（p<0.01）.Conclusion Two methods are effective for treating elderly retrograde arthrosis of knee joint and the combination of health education and conventional therapy is more effective.
