Objective To study prevalence of common noninfectious chronic disease（NCD） of teachers from colleges and universities in China

and to provide the references for prevention

health care and health education.Method Data of physical examination of 129 515 person-trips of teachers from 28 colleges and universities in recent 5 years

which was published in Journal of Health Medicine Research and Practice

and Nanjin university

Qinghua University

Zhejiang University

Southwest University and Beijing university in 2006-2009 year were analyzed in order to receive prevalence rates of whole

different ages

gender

years of common NCD and statistical differences.Results Prevalence rates of abnormality of lipids

abnormal electrocardiogram

hypertension

overweight

fatty liver

abnormality of blood sugar

obesity

hyperuricemia and coronary heart disease of teachers from colleges and universities were 28.9%

29.1%

20.9%

19.8%

19.5%

10.3%

9.4%

7.4% and 6.1% respectively;Male prevalence rates of abnormality of lipids

hypertension

abnormality of blood sugar

fatty liver and hyperuricemia were higher than female prevalence rates（P<0.01）;Prevalence rates of abnormality of lipids

hypertension

abnormal electrocardiogram

coronary heart disease and abnormality of blood sugar increased with age（P<0.01）;Prevalence rates of abnormal electrocardiogram

overweight

obesity

hypertension

fatty liver and abnormality of blood sugar were closely related to years（P<0.01）.Conclusions Health condition of teachers from colleges and universities in China was depressing.we should insist on periodical physic examination and enhance health education to all

especially to male

middle aged and elderly teachers.To sound mind and body of teachers from colleges and universities

scientific research and health interventions should be enhance.
