Objective To explore the effects of the improvement on operation on infection of incisional wound in appendectomy.Method To make a retrospectively statistical analysis of and an investigation into the effects of the operation in our hospital on infection of incisional wound in appendectomy after improving the skills in operation while other treatments remained substantially unchanged.Results According to the findings

of 387 cases of operations for appendicitis before 2004

9 cases were of infection of incisional wound and the rate of infection was 2.33%;of 438 cases of operations for appendictis after the improvement of skills in operation since 2004

2 cases were of infection and the rate of infection was 0.46%;the difference was statistically significant（χ2=5.46

P<0.05）.Conclusion Strict and standard aseptic manipulation in operation can significantly decrease the rate of infection of appendicitis incision.
