Objective To explore the organization framework and personnel structure of the medical establishments in institutions of higher education in Guangdong and to provide reference for the construction of medical such establishments.Method The authors of this paper have conducted a survey on 41 medical and health care establishments in regular institutions of higher education in Guangdong province

based on which a statistic analysis has been made. Results The ratio of the number of the regular service targets to that of the medical personnel is 933∶1; The medical personnel-student ratio descends in the order as follons; the main campus of universities

middle and primary titles is 16.3%

Conclusion It is highly necessary to provide with more medical personnel and to upgrade the professional knowledge of the medical personnel in medical establishments in institutions of higher education in Guangdong with a view to ensuring better medical and health care service to staff and students as well.
