Objective To find out the vision state of college freshmen

for the aim of guiding and promoting health care work in college.Method Optometry were conducted on 2 454 freshmen in 2007

in which national standard vision form was used

and then statistical analysis was carried on.Results The rate of freshmen who have bad eyesight is 86.1%.The eyesight of girls is worse than that of boys（χ2=2.74

p>0.05）

the eyesight of urban stndents is worse than that of viuage students and the village student compare（χ2=1.64

p>0.05）

but the differences don’t have statistics significance.Conclusion It’s common that the freshmen’s eyesight is not very good

which should be taken attention to by couege and taken preventiue measures.
