Abstract
Objective To study the HCV infection situation of free blood-donating students from colleges and universities and to provide information for the college students’ medical care and prevention work. Method To determine the number of students who have the HCV positive resistance by checking their blood when they donate blood the first time in our college. Results Through examination we can find that in the past nine years among the 9 319 students who have donated blood the first time
there have been 59 cases showing positive reaction
taking the rate of 0.633 %
of whom there have been 3 977 male students
positive reaction taking 26 cases with the rate of 0.654 %
and of whom there have been 5 342 female students
positive reaction taking 33 cases
and taking the rate of 0.618 %. There is no statistical significance about the different rates of HCV positive resistance between male and female students(χ2=0.047
p>0.05). Conclusion The rate of HCV positive resistance of the first free blood-donating students in our college is slightly lower than that of general people all over the country
and there is no relationship between it and gender.
