Differential expression of DAB2IP in gastric carcinoma patients with different clinical prognoses
Objective To investigate the correlation of the expression of DOC-2/DAB-2 interaction protein (DAB2IP) with prognosis of survival time in gastric carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemistry was applied to detect the expression of DAB2IP in 82 tissue samples of gastric carcinoma and 82 normal stomach tissues. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and COX regression analysis were used on the clinical and follow-up data. Results DAB2IP was highly expressed in the normal stomach tissues
but mildly or negatively in the gastric carcinoma (P0.05). The median survival time of the patients with positive expression of DAB2IP was 40.8 months
significantly longer than those with negative DAB2IP expression (33.7 months
P0.05). Furthermore
COX multivariate regression analysis demonstrated that the lower expression level of DAB2IP and higher TNM stage were independent prognostic factor for survival time of clinical prognosis (P0.05). Conclusion The declination of DAB2IP might play a significant role in the occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma
and it might of a vital significance on predicting the survival time in the patients with gastric carcinoma.
