Quality of life and its associated factors among women in Chongqing, China: based on the EuroQOL five dimensions
Objective To investigate the quality of life among women in Chongqing and its associated factors by using the EuroQOL five dimensions (EQ-5D scale) to measure health-related quality of life. Methods The data of this study was based on the fifth National Health Service Investigation which covered the women samples over 20 years old from 38 districts and counties in Chongqing and conducted during July and September 2013. Through multistage stratified random sampling
a total of 4 514 women with valid questionnaires of family health and EQ-5D were subjected as participants. Univariate analysis was applied to evaluate the differences between factors of the score of EQ Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Two multiple logistic regression analysis using the stepwise method was employed to assess the influential factors for mobility
self care
usual activities
pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression. Results The mean score of VAS was 77.54±16.00 in the subjects
with 10.30%
5.50 %
8.20%
20.60% and 10.20% of the women having difficulty in the first to fifth dimensions respectively (corresponding to mobility
selfcare
usual activities
pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the associated factors of mobility were age
residence registration
per capita income of household in China
and suffering from chronic diseases or not. The associated factors for selfcare
usual activities
pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression were same
that is
age
residence registration
per capita income of household in China
suffering from chronic diseases or not
and suffering from diseases or not in 2 weeks. Conclusion Age
residence registration
per capita income of household in China
and suffering from chronic diseases or not may affect the quality of life among the women in Chongqing.
