Piezoelectric surgery in intraspinal tumor resection
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect and safety of piezoelectric osteotomy in intraspinal tumor resection. Methods Clinical data of 31 patients with intraspinal tumors
who underwent the piezoelectric osteotomy assisted surgery (piezoelectric osteotomy group
n=15) or non-piezoelectric osteotomy assisted surgery (non-piezoelectric osteotomy group
n=16)
were retrospectively reviewed. The operation situations and long-term clinical effect were compared. Results Compared with the non-piezoelectric osteotomy group
the piezoelectric osteotomy group showed shorter operative time and hospital stay
and less blood loss (P0.05). However
the long-term clinical effect had no statistically significant difference between the 2 groups (P0.05). The piezoelectric osteotomy had good bone tissue cutting effect
high precision
good soft tissue protective effect
less bleeding
and clear operative field. After operation
most symptoms were obviously alleviated
and no dura
spinal cord and spinal nerve root injury and other complications appeared. In follow-up of 3~12 months
the spinous process and vertebral plate complex was healed well
and no collapse
shift
deformity and spinal canal stenosis occurred. Conclusion Piezoelectric osteotomy can smoothly and effectively remove the spinous process and vertebral plate complex
