Anterior cruciate ligament injury in military training: injury features and clinical efficiency of 233 cases
Objective To investigate the injury features of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in military training and the efficiency in the diagnosis and treatment. Methods A retrospective study was carried out on 233 patients with ACL injury (246 knees) treated in our institute from June 2003 to June 2013. The injury features
incidence
training programs prone to cause injury
main diagnostic criteria
common complications
and effective treatment were analyzed in the cohort. Results ACL injuries are mainly found in the position of knee flexion
especially occurring in the course of acrossing obstacle. Most common complications were collateral ligament and meniscus injury. Autogenous grafting of hamstring tendon had good surgical efficiency in the reconstruction of ACL. Conclusion ACL injury is comparatively serious among military training injuries. Surgical treatment for the reconstruction of ACL is recommended when conditions are permitted.
