Status of asthma outpatient control and influencing factors for their revisit compliance
Objective To investigate the current situation of asthma control in outpatients and the possible benefit of initial asthma management. Methods Diagnosed asthma outpatients in our department from July 2011 to September 2011 were enrolled in this study after informed consent form was signed and protocol was approved by the ethics committee of our hospital. The status of asthma control and other clinical featured were evaluated and analyzed. Results There were totally 198 patients completing the evaluation
including 117 patients in non-compliance management group and 81 patients in compliance management group. Total asthma control test (ACT) score was 18.08±4.67
and only 6.57% patients got 25 scores. The patients in compliance management group had better asthma control
sounder compliance with treatment
fewer frequencies of acute exacerbation
and little amount of exacerbation than patients in non-compliance management group. Their affordability for health and economic burden was same between 2 groups. Conclusion The asthma control is not good for outpatients. Initial implementation of asthma management will significantly improve the control.
