Applied anatomy and 3-D visualization of human laryngeal blood vessel
Objective To investigate the anatomical position and adjacent structures and 3-D visualization of human larynx
in order to provide 3-D anatomical data for diagnosis and surgical approach of larynx diseases. Methods A total of 12 embalmed adult cadavers from Chengdu Medical College were dissected by blood vascular casting technique
imaging scanning technique
thin layer cryotomy and gross anatomy
then the vessel and anatomical structures of larynx were analyzed and studied qualitatively and quantitatively. Three dimensional visualization of the larynx was reconstructed by Autodesk 3ds Max 2010(32). Results The point where superior laryngeal artery entered the larynx was 14.60±2.45 mm in the left side and 15.58±2.58 mm in the right to front lower place of the superior cornu of thyroid cartilage. There was significant difference (t=2.58
P0.05) between the left and right sides. The point where inferior laryngeal artery entered the larynx was 4.78±1.08 mm in the left side and 6.25±1.68 mm in the right to front lower place of the inferior horn of thyroid cartilage. There was significant difference between the left and right sides (t=3.76
P0.05). Conclusion Our reconstructed 3-D structures of larynx shows 3-D location and relationships of larynx and adjacent structures entirely and conjointly
and also displays in different levels and visual angle in 3-D space.
