Over-expression and clinical significance of Hsp70-2 and 14-3-3zeta in bladder urothelial carcinoma
Objective To identify the expression of heat shock protein 70-2 (Hsp70-2) and 14-3-3 zeta in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BUC) and analyze their clinical significances. Methods The expression of Hsp70-2 and 14-3-3zeta was detected in 48 specimens with pathological identified BUC collected in our department from March 2010 to July 2011
and 20 paracancerous tissues collected in the same period by immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Western blotting and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)
The results were analyzed with their clinical pathological parameters. Results The results indicated that Hsp70-2 and 14-3-3 zeta were mildly or moderately expressed in paracancerous tissues
but highly expressed in BUC specimens (P0.05). The expression levels were positively related with pathological grades and invasion depths (P0.05). Positive relation was found in the expression of Hsp70-2 and 14-3-3 zeta in paracancerous urothelial tissues (r=0.516
P0.05). Conclusion Hsp70-2 and 14-3-3zeta are over-expressed in BUC
which have positive correlation with pathological grades and clinical stage. Their expression is positively correlated
suggesting that they may play important roles in tumorigenesis and progression.
