Value of protein chip system-detected multi-tumor markers for diagnosis of colorectal cancer
Objective To study the value of protein chip system-detected multi-tumor markers for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods Serum tumor markers were detected with C-12 in 130 CRC patients (CRC group) and 108 normal adults (control group). TNM staging of CRC
C-12 containing 12 tumor markers and their positive rate between the two groups were analyzed. Results The positive rate of C-12 was significantly higher in CRC group than in control group and increased with the TNM staging (P0.01).The positive rates of CEA
CA242 and CA19-9 were significantly higher than those of the other 9 tumor markers (P0.01). Combined CEA and CA242 or CA19-9 increased the diagnosis rate of CRC. However
no significant difference was found in the diagnosis rate of CRC between combined CEA and 12 tumor markers or single CEA (P>0.05). Conclusion C-12 contributes to the diagnosis of CRC. The later the TNM staging of CRC is
the higher the value of tumor markers is. The diagnosis value of CEA
CA242 and CA19-9 for the diagnosis of CRC is better than that of the other 9 tumor markers. Detection of multiple tumor markers is not advantageous to the detection of single CEA for the diagnosis of CRC.
