Effect of Matrine injection on liver function of patients with primary liver cancer due to HB virus infection after transarterial chemoembolization
Objective To study the effect of Matrine injection on liver function of patients with primary liver cancer due to HB virus infection after transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). Methods Seventy-six patients with primary liver cancer due to HB virus infection admitted to our hospital from August 2007 to December 2009 were randomly divided into treatment group (TACE+Matrine injection
n=38) and control group (TACE+glutathione
n=38). Liver function was detected on day 3
and weeks 4 and 12 after TACE. HBV-DNA load was assayed in 4 and 12 weeks before TACE
respectively. Results The HBV-DNA load was 5.82±1.25 in treatment group and 7.29±1.53 in control group 12 weeks after TACE(P0.05). The ALT/AST was significantly different between the control group and treatment group on day 3
and weeks 4 and 12 after TACE (P0.05). The incidence of hepatitis was significantly different between the two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Primary liver cancer after TACE can reactivate hepatitis B virus. Matrine injection can improve liver function
protect liver against damage induced by reactivation of hepatitis B virus and has a certain antiviral effect.
