Anatomic appearance of superior sagittal sinus and its tributaries with volume CT digital subtraction angiography
Objective To investigate the anatomic features of superior sagittal sinus and its tributaries by volume CT digital subtraction angiography (VCTDSA) and to evaluate their clinical significance. Methods VCTDSA data that matches our research inclusion criteria of 102 patients with cephalocervical and cephalic scanning in our hospital from February 2007 to December 2008 were analyzed. The morphology of original point
output forms and the diameter of superior sagittal sinus were studied. The number of tributaries veins
the anastomosis of superior sagittal sinus with other sinuses were observed. Results The superior sagittal sinus
accounting for 40.2%
had dead end original point
and of 59.8% was converged by veins. The output branching was most as superior sagittal sinus lateralization and straight-sinus type (48.0%
49/102)
followed by double branching type (36.3%
37/102) and confluence sinus type (12.7%
13/102). The section of superior sagittal sinus was triangle at most (79.4%
81/102). Trolard anastomosis in 106
Labbe anastomosis in 155
and anastomosis between superior sagittal sinus and falciform sinus
straight sinus through cerebral falx vein in 25 were found. Conclusion VCTDSA is an useful method to display the anatomic features of superior sagittal sinus and its tributaries. The morphology of vessels is demonstrated completely
clearly and in different views. And it may be useful for diagnosis and operation of the superior sagittal sinus and its tributaries in clinical medicine.
