Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of injecting extracellular domain of p75
NTR
(p75
NTR-ECD
) on learning and memory of APP/PS1 transgenic Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mice and the proliferation of neural stem cells (NSCs) in the hippocampus. Methods Totally 16 12-months-old APP/PS1 transgenic Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mice were divided randomly into expe
rimental group and control group. In the experimental group
p75
NTR-ECD
was injected into lateral cerebral ventricle of AD mice for 7 d (1 μg/d)
and saline was injected in the control group. BrdU immunohistochemistry was used to observe NSCs proliferation in the hippocampus and Morris water maze test was performed to detect the praxiology of AD mice. Results NSCs proliferation in the hippocampus was obviously increased compared with control group [(286.39±26.17) vs (142.01±18.12)
