Clinical value of parameters from perfusion imaging of stomach tumor by 64 MSCT
Objective To compare the difference of CT perfusion imaging parameters for stomach tumors of various pathologic types and explore their clinical application value. Methods Thirty-four patients with stomach tumor
confirmed by gastroscopic examination and postoperative pathologic biopsy
were scanned with a 64 MSCT scanner using perfusion technique. Thirty-four patients were classified into three groups according to the pathological findings: cancer (n=23)
lymphoma (n=4)
interstitialoma (n=7). Their CT hemodynamic parameters including blood flow (BF)
blood volume (BV)
mean transit time (MTT) and permeability surface (PS)
were measured in regions of interest and statistically analyzed. Results The mean BF
BV
MTT and PS of stomach cancer groups were (69.36±49.62)ml/(100 g·min)
(5.78±2.58)ml/100 g
(8.64±6.02)s
(38.60±24.46)ml/(100 g·min); of stomach lymphoma groups were (23.60±14.87)ml/(100 g·min)
(2.64±0.58)ml/100 g
(10.68±5.33)s
(22.51±15.99)ml/(100g·min); of stomach interstitialoma groups were (50.66±30.92)ml/(100 g·min)
(4.95±1.61)ml/100g
(11.23±8.09)s
(10.05±8.96)ml/(100 g·min)
respectively. There were very significant statistical differences in mean BF
BV and PS between stomach cancer groups and stomach lymphoma groups
in mean PS between stomach cancer groups and stomach interstitialoma groups
in mean BV between stomach lymphoma and stomach interstitialoma groups (P0.01); there were significant statistical differences in mean BF and PS between stomach lymphoma and stomach interstitialoma groups (P0.05); no significant statistical differences were found in mean BF between stomach cancer and stomach interstitialoma as well as the mean MTT among the three groups (P0.05). Conclusion 64 MSCT perfusion imaging technique can provide quantitative information about stomach tumor. CT perfusion imaging parameters of stomach tumors are of significant statistical differences in different pathologic types and are helpful in clinic diagnosis of stomach tumors.
