Laparoscopic paravaginal repair for anterior vaginal prolapse
efficacy and safety of laparoscopic paravaginal repair (LPVR) in treatment of anterior vaginal prolapse. Methods Totally 74 patients of anterior vaginal prolapse were treated by LPVR. All patients had clinical symptoms. The patients without any subjective symptom were defined as subjective cure and those whose pelvic organ prolapse quantification (POP-Q) of anterior vaginal was 0 were defined as objective cure. Results LPVR was accomplished in all patients. The average operation time was (43±27) min and estimated blood loss was (65±45) ml. The average overall hospital stay was (4.3±2.3) days. During the follow-up of average 14 months (6-30 months)
dougiascele occurred in 8 patients
prolapse of uterus in 3
stress incontinence in 4
and re-occurrence of anterior vaginal prolapse in 7. The subjective cure rate was 94.6% and the objective cure rate was 90.5%. Conclusion LPVR can be successfully completed in anterior vaginal prolapse patients with paravaginal defect with less injury and shorter recovery time.
