Depressive symptoms and influencing factors in a telecommunication troop
Objective To explore the prevalence of depressive symptoms and influencing factors so as to provide the basic data for strategy of psychological health education in the telecommunication people. Methods Using the sensus method
a sample of 1 216 people in military telecommunication work was subjected. The self-rating depression scale (SDS) and the influencing factors questionnaire were used to assess the level of depression level and influencing factors. Results Comparing with those who did other military performance
the population had the characteristics of more sedentary lifestyle
more female members and higher degree level of education. The scores of SDS of the population were about (41.58±10.80). The rate of depressive symptoms was about 23.9%. Logistic regression analysis revealed that younger age
lower education
unmarried state
insufficient sleep
poor ability of environmental adaptation
poor interpersonal relationships and less consumption behavior had a positive relation with the depressive symptoms. Conclusion The depressive symptoms rate of the group is close to normal person population
but lower than the filed training military task population. More attention should be paid to the risk factors in the military telecommunication population during psychological intervention.
