Objective    To study the clinical and histopathological characteristics of mixed tumor of the skin (MTS).     Methods    The 26 cases of MTS at Southwestern Hospital from 1980 to 2007 were subjected and analyzed retrospectively.     Results    Twenty-three cases were apocrine MTS

including 8 cases with follicular and sebaceous differentiation. The stroma varied from myxoid (all cases) to chondroid (5 cases)

with various amounts of fat (8 cases) and ossification identified in one case. Hyaline cells and plasmacytoid cells were found respectively in 4 cases and 8 cases.     Conclusion    Some follicular and/or sebaceous differentiation was present in MTS. The stroma varied obviously.
