Objective     To study the principles and methods for diagnosing and treating the cranial-maxillofacial embedding fractures.      Methods     Thirty-four cases with cranial-maxillofacial embedding fractures were admitted and treated from July 2002 to July 2006 in our hospital. The diagnosis

treatment and prognosis were reviewed and analyzed.      Results     All the patients remarkably obtained normal appearances and sound function.      Conclusion     CT and 3D reconstruction can supply much significant references to the diagnosis and treatment of cranial-maxillofacial embedding fractures. According to the severity of the deformity and dysfunction

the cranial embedding fractures should be treated with or without operations. All the orbital and maxillary embedding fractures should be treated with operations as soon as possible.
